We present the incredible work of Guillermo Ives Yupanqui, a self-taught photographer from the Central Andes of Peru. Since his arrival in Canada in 2002, Guillermo has been interested in photo-video-participatory research, which combines action research with educational activities.
Guillermo believes that photo and video-participatory research allows participants to control the research processes, value their traditional and local knowledge, become aware of their own realities and situations, and organize to effectively use their resources and capabilities. Guillermo's life has been enriched by his work with indigenous and excluded populations in Peru.
Guillermo shares his work with the public through a numbers of spectacular virtual galleries and videos: Peru Profundo en Blanco y Negro, Pachamanca en Chuquitambo, Pazos, Human & Social conditions - Photo Essay
We reproduce here one of his many galleries: Vida Rural - Peru. Enjoy!
