Cuso International and The Association for Higher Education and Development (AHEAD), would like to invite LARO Network and the public to the launch of a new study, an autoethnographic research on the role and impact of diaspora volunteers in international development.
Focusing on Ethiopia, Guyana and Canada as case studies, lead researcher Dr. Solomon Belay investigated the relevance of the selection, training, deployment and monitoring of diaspora volunteers to the context and needs of volunteer-hosting countries and institutions with a view to strengthening and improving these processes. We are excited to share the findings and shed light on the opportunities and challenges that diaspora volunteerism presents.
Funded by the International Development Research Center (IDRC), the launch will be held in Toronto on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 5:30 -7 pm at the YMCA Central (20 Grosvenor St.). We look forward to having you join us and kindly ask you to confirm your presence by registering at:
